Benefits Assessment of Duct Systems Simulation Approach for 2008 Title 24
Goal Statement:
In support of the 2008 Title 24 Standards, use the simulation approach identified in Task 2.2.1 to assess the impacts of different
levels of duct leakage and insulation on energy consumption and peak demand for different building and heating, ventilation, and
air conditioning (HVAC) system types in the 16 California climate zones.
Results:
Per our original schedule, there were no expenditures of funds on this task during the first year, awaiting the completion of
Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) research on thermal distribution systems under a different (CEC PIER-II)
contract (#500-98-026). The final report for #500-98-026 is complete, and a final
draft has been submitted to the CEC for comments.
Work in this task will begin upon completion of Task 2.2.1.
