Jose Almodovar is a Research Affiliate in the Building Technology and Urban System Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research interests are in the areas of daylighting and energy efficiency in buildings, environmental design and East Asian architecture. He is a Tenured Professor at the School of Architecture, University of Seville, Spain. Ph.D. in Architecture and Daylighting Simulation (2000), Ms. in Renewable Energies (1999) and Ms. Sc. in Architecture (1997). Almodovar have conducted research projects funded by the European Union and in collaboration with Ibero-American universities (Brazil, Peru, Mexico). Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, Cal Poly Pomona (Los Angeles), Tsinghua University, Nanjing University and Kobe Design University. In the Language Institute of the University of Seville he has obtained a Certificate in Chinese (B1, CEFR), Japanese (B1, CEFR) and Portuguese (C1-CEFR). Manuscript reviewer for the journals (partial list): Energy and Buildings, Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Journal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering. Scientific Reviewer in five international conferences and Chairman of the Passive and Low Energy in Architecture Conference, PLEA'16 (Los Angeles).
