Yang-Seon Kim is a postdoctoral fellow at LBNL. Her research area is building energy and environments, more specifically the indoor air pollutant reducing technologies associated with building energy savings. Her research started with particular contaminants (aerosol) in indoor air, and expanded to retail store environments and commercial building energy consumption. The main topic of her doctoral dissertation study was related to occupants' impact on the building energy consumption and improvement of building energy simulation results by using occupants' information. She also worked on occupants' perception in the retail store indoor environment. Currently, her work at LBNL is about residential building indoor environment study.

She holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and M.S. and B.S. degrees from Yonsei University in South Korea.
