Virtual 2024 BEST Center National Institute Meeting to Bring Building Professionals Together for Learning
Co-hosts Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center have opened registration for their annual National Institute meeting for building sustainability professionals, which will take place virtually from January 4-5, 2024.
Each year, hundreds of instructors, students, technicians, facilities managers, and building professionals come together to learn about cutting-edge technologies and education at the intersection of sustainability, energy conservation, clean energy, and healthy buildings operations.
In this completely virtual, free event, a line-up of expert speakers and interactive sessions will explore topics like decarbonization via energy conservation, electrification, distributed energy resources, and grid load flexibility; innovative technology research and building performance standards; residential and commercial demonstration projects; and education and workforce opportunities for “smart” buildings, building automation, and commercial HVAC.
Featured speakers include Berkeley Lab Energy Technologies Area Associate Lab Director Mary Ann Piette and Department of Energy Building Technologies Office Deputy Director Ramachandran Narayanamurthy, as well as journalist and climate change researcher Abrahm Lustgarten.
