Dr. Vi Rapp is a Research Scientist in the Environmental Technologies Area at Berkeley Lab. She leads and directs research for the biomass cookstoves group and the combustion laboratory. Her research focuses on developing carbon neutral, near zero emission combustion technologies for residential heat and power generation. These technologies include advanced biomass cookstoves for the developing world, and efficient, low emissions burner technologies for combustion appliances. Dr. Rapp received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on advanced internal combustion engines and alternative fuels.
